| | So, I just got back from my second interview with Ionia Public High School. I had an interview on Monday with the principal and associate superintendent. I was told that they were doing 15 of these preliminary interviews. So... I was in the top 15. Good to know. They asked me to come back today (Wednesday) for another interview where I would have to teach a lesson about the formation of the solar system. This interview was with their entire science faculty. I was really stressed, but the stress evaporated as I walked into the classroom. Taught the lesson, answered their questions. They let me know that the next step is yet ANOTHER interview, if I am selected. The next interview would be with the superintendent.
Some funny thoughts: They asked me what I would do if I overheard teachers in the staff room talking negative about a student. Do they really expect anyone to say "Oh, yeah, I'd jump right on that bandwagon!" or "I love verbally bashing students!"? They asked me how I would get involved in the community. I mentioned 4-H and possibly finding a home church in the area (I did not mention that I may keep driving to Holland for church). When I mentioned find a church, the associate superintendent said something along the lines of "all right" but with a possitive emphasis and one of the staff said something to him as well. Some sort of inside joke, I assume. But I think that comment was taken on a positive note. The science faculty had very good banter/group dynamics going on. I liked that.
Catch you all later. Sorry I am so bad at writing here.
